マンダリン オリエンタル 東京のほど近くにある重要文化財「日本橋」は、1603年に徳川家康の指令により建設され、翌年日本の五街道（東海道、中山道、日光街道、奥州街道、甲州街道）の起点に定められました。橋の中央には「日本国道路元標」が埋め込まれており、その複製を北西の橋詰めにてご覧いただけます。

Nipponbashi bridge, a starting point of TOKYO

National important cultural property, Nipponbashi bridge, which is near of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo was built in 1603 and defined as the starting point of five major roads (Tokai-do Road, Nakasen-do Road, Nikko-kaido Road, Koshu-kaido Road, and Oshu-kaido Road) in 1604.
Replica of the “zero milestone in Japan" that is embedded in the center of the bridge can be seen closely at bottom of the bridge.
