サマンサウィルスさんのインスタグラム写真 - (サマンサウィルスInstagram)「Was a pleasure this morning in Sydney, to take to the stage for L'Oréal Paris, talking all things bold beauty. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ One of the questions posed to me was “how has my idea of beauty changed as I’ve gotten older”… ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Beauty to me, now, is based around boundaries. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ BOUNDARIES to have the courage to walk away from something – a relationship, a friendship, a job, a situation – when it compromises our core values. Boundaries to know when to rest rather than push on til your body makes the decision for you. Boundaries to choose to our spend time and our energy space with those who meet us half way, not those who come into our space and flood it, nor those who consistently make us come so far into theirs that we’re drained of our own. Boundaries to recognize when you are talking shit about yourself - to yourself - and being honest enough to call yourself out on it. Honouring the boundary that if you wouldn’t speak that way to your best friend, then we should not speak that way to ourselves. The boundary to know that some days we will be able to do more, and some days we will have to retreat to the safe havan of our bedroom, or to the arms of those we love, or simply the safe haven of deleting our social media apps for a few days. Boundaries to go gently with our journey, and with others. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Boundaries that we honour from the inside, create for beauty all around us. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The rawest of beauty, can only emerge from the rawest of situations. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ So if you are experiencing something right now that feels like there is heavy darkness overhead, hold on tight, let go, look around down there.
