😰I'm nervous and scared about birth😰
With only 13 weeks to go, I haven't been able to stop thinking about the discomfort and pain that I'll be going through. I want to be as relaxed as possible for the birth. But also knowing my mum (who can't travel for 3 months) and twin sister won't be able to make it over till after baby Chalmers is born makes me even more stressed and upset.
How to deal???? So I've been channeling my yoga and everything I learned from it. Not just the poses, but how to deal with discomfort and emotions. I remembered that in my yoga practice, as soon as I began to feel uncomfortable, I’d always want to come out of the pose because it was too hard. Perception says we’re not supposed to feel pain or discomfort and we rush to make it all better. Don't get me wrong, there is a line between the two and I know how to distinguish both. BUT, just as I practice yoga, BREATHE THROUGH THE UNCOMFORTABLE, and find space in my body, I’m also finding healing and contentment.
For the birth, I know it's going to be tough (and painful 😖), but the best thing I can do now is to embrace the unexpected, get in the zone, and learn to breathe through the discomfort and pain I'm going to be feeling. It’s all about finding comfort in the uncomfortable and it will be the greatest thing I can ever to do to help me better stay in the moment of welcoming Baby Chalmers into our lives. Breath work is everything!
Tip: conscious breathing heightens awareness and deepens relaxation.
Also a big shoutout to @ALO Yoga — they just launched their new summer collection today!

What really helped me was the thought that our bodies know what they have to do. Your body is creating something magical, LIFE. from a tiny little chromosome it is creating a little human. This thought left me so impressed that it wad easy for me to simply trust. Breath, use your breath to calm yourself down... Think of the wonderful moment where you will be holding your baby in your arms... That moment will make up for every not so beautiful moment during birth. ❤️❤️

Your body knows exactly what to do! Show faith and follow the vibration! Understand that is a kind of pain that you cannot die from it and you will be relieved! A healthy pain that you are gonna miss! You and Your whole body will work together to set your baby free? (angela, a mother of 2 that gave birth without any medicine)?

To be honest, I don’t actually remember my birth as being painful. Intense yes. But not painful. ? Your body will know what to do. Just listen to it.. Also, have you thought about hiring a Doula? There is a book called ‘Birthing with Confidence’, which is supposed to be life changing! All the best! ?

@biancamaycheah I was the same before all 4 of my babies were born. Everyone is different but there was 1 book that changed my mindset and prepared me for what was to come. It was co-writen by #JujuSundin and #SarahMurdoch called #birthskills @jujusundin it is an amazing tool! Good luck x?

In all honesty, the birth is nowhere near as uncomfortable as the 1st trimester discomfort. It is the glorious moment of finally getting to meet your baby, and I did not have an easy labour at all. xx
