アメリカ自然史博物館さんのインスタグラム写真 - (アメリカ自然史博物館Instagram)「Did you visit the Museum’s Hall of Late Dinosaurs sometime between 1939 and 1992? If so, chances are you saw the Museum’s Tyrannosaurus rex in an upright position, like in the photo below from 1960. The original “tripod” pose for T. rex—standing erect while supported by the tail—is familiar from movies such as Godzilla. But no footprints have been discovered with a tail dragging behind, and biomechanical studies indicate the animal’s tail was held straight back to counterbalance the massive head and torso. The T. rex fossil is now mounted in a stalking position, with its head low, tail extended, and one foot slightly raised. #TBT #AMNH150 Photo: © AMNH」4月12日 0時11分 - amnh
