長洲未来のインスタグラム(mirainagasu) - 4月10日 03時33分

When I went to @icecoldcombos the first thing I told him was that I wanted a program that meant something to me. I didn’t want to just skate to any piece of music, so he asked me to write him “my story.” In true Mirai fashion, I wrote about how I had a meeting with a publisher and was basically told that my social media following wasn’t strong enough for a successful book.
My first reaction was to retreat from social media. I realized that even though I want to share my life story, there are moments that are still hard for me to share.
I’m grateful that skating can be my outlet to be vulnerable. I also want this program to represent the people who struggle with body dysmorphia. At one point in my career, my mom, coaches, and even friends were telling me I was too fat for skating. Some days, I would be convinced that people were looking at me and wondering why there was a whale on the ice. I hope that through my program, young girls realize that no matter what level of skating you’re at, we all have our insecurities. There isn’t a definitive answer to our insecurities, but I hope people can find comfort in knowing that they’re not alone.
