Franklin's new book, 'Analogies', sees him create a non-didactic work that allows the viewer to react to visual metaphor and the vagaries of memory. We speak to the photographer about the work today on Magnum. Link in bio.

PHOTO: The Painted Forest of Oma. The pines in the Oma forest, in a remote part of Spain were turned into Land Art by the Basque artist Agustín Ibarrola in 1982. He used a rustic ladder to fill the forest with motifs from culture and "our collective feeling". The work was completed in 2000. In the past year the region has been repainting and renovating Ibarrola's vision. Near Guernica. Basque Country. Spain. 2017.
