The EU has voted in a controversial copyright law, signalling what critics say is the beginning of significant changes to internet freedom and expression. Most controversial is Article 13, which some publishers have called a “meme ban.” It would force major platforms like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to filter every single upload to prevent copyright infringement. “So much internet so little time”
