PECAN PIE
CRUST INGREDIENTS – 9inch
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening
2 to 3 tablespoons cold water
CRUST STEPS
1. Mix flour and salt in medium bowl.
2. Cut in shortening until it forms pea sized crumbles
3. Sprinkle in cold water 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with a fork until pastry is moistened and sticks together
4. Form into a ball and roll out on a flat surface
5. Press into pie pan and fork edges in desired pattern
FILLING INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup corn syrup
½ teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1 cup pecan halves, broken
FILLING STEPS
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees
2. Beat sugar, butter, corn syrup, salt and eggs in medium bowl with a whisk until well blended.
3. Stir in pecans and pour into pastry-lined pan
4. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the center is set
