Some behind-the-scene notes for “you should see me in a crown” @wherearetheavocados video:
First, Billie explained her rough idea for the animation to us, including how she would transform into the spider and vomit, as well as how she should switch her clothes before the transformation. We started by capturing Billie's actual movements as she sang with motion capture, and then explored how she could be realized as an anime character.
I asked @mebaeros , the animator/illustrator I trust, to do the character design and a rough storyboard. We revised and refined the character little by little with Billie’s input along the way. We kept fine tuning the finalized character even after it was animated with CG.
