ashleyvaleraphotography Hi Beth. My name is Ashley. I meet you once down my Waikokos. I was just learning to surf and was working as a tutor. My student and I were in the process of reading your autobiography. I pulled up to check out the surf and there you were. You signed a paper for my student, so cool. I then decided to follow you out to the line up. It was only you and two others out that day. I had never caught a wave before. One of the surfers gave me a pointer, next thing I know a 5-6 footer was swelling up behind me... the guy yelled GO! and I took off and stood up... I zoomed right pass you! After the wave I went in... you came in shortly after and you told me “that was a great ride!” My heart filled with joy and appreciation. I’ve been surfing and following my dreams of being a photographer ever since. I’ll never forget that day. Your kindness and awesomeness inspired me. Thank you, Beth. I always wanted to run into you again to share that with you. It’s great watching you kick butt and your family grow! Take care. Aloha.
