We are saddened to hear the news of Agnès Varda passing. Once called the “grandmother of the French New Wave,” Varda inspired many artists and filmmakers.⁣⠀

In November 2013, LACMA presented "Agnès Varda in Californialand" the first U.S. museum presentation of her artwork. The exhibition featured a new major sculptural installation inspired by her time in Los Angeles in the late 1960s, as well as a selection of her photographs. ⁣⠀
