I want to thank @metropolistokyo editor in chief Paul McInnes @pvmcinnes for including me in their fashion issue, the one with N. Hoolywood on the cover. . . Took me a long time to post this because writer Rosie Ball interviewed me and did such a good job of going thru my whole life from little girl in Eastern Washington State to fulfilling some lifelong dreams with tons of failures (that I normally don’t talk about)- that I kind of had to take a step back. . . People thought I was some heiress or had my family all pay for me to live a glitzy life in tokyo (I had a scholarship and I was a broke student!). Now in this day and age I feel we are always overshadowed and accomplishments minimized because someone else is always doing something better or more noteworthy the next moment. You’re only as good as your last Instagram post amiright??! Is it *really* that interesting that I did that thing? ‘Nah, It was over 5 minutes ago.. we’re moving on to the next.’ But when I saw everything I have done in 13 years all in one article , all added up, I was like ...”wow... I did THAT!” . . This is my favorite takeaway from the interview, “ I grew up with dreams of I ‘wanna be known in fashion, I wanna be on the cover of a magazine, I wanna be on a TV show, I want to go to Paris Fashion Week and sit front row. I’ve accomplished those things. Am I the most famous person to ever accomplish those things? No, but I have accomplished those things.”’ . . And yet it took *weeks* for me to even post about this because I am much, much, much more shy than you guys can imagine. So sorry to metropolis for being so late at thanks.
