The agbádá or dàńdógó is a garment that symbolizes wealth and social importance in Yorùbá society. The egúngún is a Yorùbá masquerade dance costume. The egúngún featured in #OneEgngn has pieces of at least two agbádá in it, appropriate for a mask that uses rich textiles to honor ancestors. In Yorùbá culture, clothing is connected to identity and community. The agbádá is worn with a matching embroidered top, trousers, and cap. The thread is dipped into indigo dye before weaving.

@brooklynmuseum nice write up, but try and get your facts right before you post some certain things, the egungun is not a Yoruba masquerade dance costume, rather Egungun is known as the masked ancestors of the Yoruba traditions which assures the people that the dead are among the living. the costume you made mention of is otherwise known as "EKUU" and it is usually made with "Aso Ofi"
