TV Asahi Corporation launched "REC from 3/11 - Overcoming Japan's Biggest Quake," a website that connects news footage related to the great earthquake and tsunami of 2011 to locations on Google Maps. Since the fateful day of the disaster on March 11, 2011, TV Asahi camera crews have meticulously covered the region, using a technique called “fixed position filming,” which requires returning to a chosen location over time to film the exact same shot.
