Tips for cutting 360 waves on a client with course, wavy hair from Artistic Team member @keonthebarber ? . 1️⃣ Most important rule: Always cut with the grain and not against when dealing with natural wave patterns in the hair. Cutting against the grain you are at almost 95% chance of cutting the wave pattern out. 2️⃣ Locate the crown/spiral where the wave pattern originated from and brush from this point. This will be easy as it will most every time be extremely visible. There will be times when some clients have more than one spiral or “cowlick” and in those cases you will have to consult with client and use your best judgment on pattern and growth direction. 3️⃣ Always cut from spiral outward following the layout of the waves as seen in the video above. 4️⃣ You may wonder why I combed against the grain before cutting in the video. My client is doing what is called “wolfing”, this is when a wager is letting their hair grow out for weeks on end while continuing to follow their waging regimen to deepen and strengthen the wave pattern beneath. So this client is 4 or more weeks out with thick hair, I simply raised it up to give more access to my clipper but if you’ll notice I still cut with the grain and did not affect the wave pattern. I then finish and define the perimeter, use some choice products and the client is good to go with his wave pattern preserved. . #licensedtocreate #cosmoprofbeauty #keonthebarber #barbertip #barbering #barberlife #barberlife #360waves #barbervideo #barberingtip
