フィラデルフィア美術館のインスタグラム(philamuseum) - 3月6日 22時04分

Join us at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday for Spotlight Gallery Conversations. This week we’ll discuss this sculpture by Claude Michel. Rooms designated specifically for dining weren’t common in French homes until after the 1770s. This group of nymphs was made for the dining room of the Parisian town house of the count of Botterel-Quintin.

“Nymphs Holding Aloft a Platter Charged with Fruit,” c. 1785–93, by Claude Michel (called Clodion)
