Mirko will be officially retiring. Mirko started training for his next fight on Monday, where he experienced a constant headache. He went to the doctor and the MRI results showed some internal bleeding in the brain, and was given a recommendation of retirement by the doctor which he accepted.
I would like to honor his 20+ years of fighting, starting from kickboxing, and transitioning into MMA to become a complete fighter. I am proud and honored to have been able to take part in his glorious career. I hope nothing but the best for Mirko’s health and future endeavors.

今週の月曜日から次戦に向けて軽いトレーニング再開したところ頭痛が続いた為、病院でMRI含め精密検査を受けました。診断の結果、脳内血管から微量の出血痕が確認されため、正式にドクターから引退勧告を受け、引退を決意したとのことです。

キックボクサーであるミルコが果敢にMMAに挑戦をし、グラウンドの対応を身に付けコンプリートなMMAファイターに進化を遂げて来た彼の20年以上に渡る闘いの歴史には、心から敬意を表したいと思います。そして共に歩めた事を誇りに思います。
