Ahead of appearing in the Fall Winter 2019 show in Paris on Friday, #LOEWE introduces its tribute to a classic handbag – the Straeter Lite-On.
LOEWE Creative Director @jonathan.anderson first discovered the bag while browsing an antique store in London 10 years ago. “I instantly fell in love with its low-tech charm”. The house has revived this forgotten icon into a new edition, with its most distinguishing features – the integrated mirror and light – updated for a 21st century context.
The bag was also worn by @mona_tougaard in #StevenMeisel´s ´Candy Shop´ campaign, where its timeless, understated silhouette stands in playful contrast to the cornucopia of colourful sweets in the background.
LOEWE´s approach to revitalizing this design is yet another example of the house’s commitment to celebrating historic feats of craftsmanship in a modern context.
