Wolfgang Tillmans photographed his friends, artist Alexandra Bircken and the fashion designer Lutz Huelle, naked or semi-clothed for i-D magazine’s ‘Sexuality Issue’ in 1992.⠀

The magazine’s UK distributors refused to stock the issue because of its explicit content.

Despite this, these images have become his most recognisable, included in his first exhibition in 1993 with other prints held in the collections of the Guggenheim, Tate and V&A.⠀
