Shiseido Gallery celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Here are scenes from the birth of the gallery located in Ginza, Tokyo, to the present day. Said to be the oldest operating gallery in Japan - and the tallest exhibition hall in Ginza - the venue is dedicated to our ideal of "discovering and creating new value" through non-profit activities. Established by Shinzo Fukuhara in 1919 (who became our first president the following year), Shiseido Gallery has hosted over 3,100 exhibitions to date - of which many have led to major contributions to the Japanese art scene.
