Happy Valentine’s Day beauties!
We are so excited to launch our animated CD crest on this special day….. and we have especially coloured the heart red for a sweet little Valentines surprise!
Sitting on a sofa in our New York showroom just over a year ago, I told my right hand man that I visualised the crest as an animation (inspired by my love of Disney of course!) with the elements  coming to life and birds flying to unlock the heart and crown.,…..and voila ! – he made it happen !!!!……. Dreams do come true , so make them beautiful. Love CD X

Here’s a little story about the crest we created 10 years ago and recently evolved ,
A lyrical crest shape with traditional curlicues echoing the bespoke embellishments and hand looped lace, signature elements of each CD dress.
Two powerful Irish/Celtic symbols, the Triskele and Claddagh Knot are interspersed within the looping swathes. These reference the three fold manifestations of femininity and the three forces of nature (earth, air and water). The crowned heart at the top of the crest, represents love and loyalty, the blessings stitched into her bridal wear, reflecting Catherine's passion for design and a gentle spirituality borne of her travels in Africa and Asia. Richly infused with the dark mystery of her Irish heritage and a bold dash of London street punk savviness.
The heart is flanked on either side by Birds of Paradise, believed to be the Phoenix of legend in certain cultures. Thought to never touch the ground, kept permanently aloft by their exotic plumes. A true bird of the heavens. Highly prized for their adornment, as are the beautiful garments of Catherine Deane.
