I have been obsessing about these tiny little textured motifs and how it was made all those years ago. Turns out the only place in the world where this jewellery technique is still made is right on my doorstep, Bali. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Granulation is a long laborious process of attaching tiny granules of 22k gold onto a surface of gold. Anything under 22k won’t work. The Etruscans made this technique famous and inspired the Greeks to take it on. Over the centuries it made its way to Bali. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After much research and engaging with Master goldsmiths I have sadly come to learn that this technique has very nearly disappeared. My intention is to keep it alive through a process of collaborations and One of A Kind conscious creations using recycled gold. ? #watchthisspace
