ドウロ川の上流にブドウ畑が渓谷の斜面に沿って段々に連なっているのがドウロ渓谷。古来よりポートワインの故郷と呼ばれるほど生産地としての歴史があり、その景観は世界遺産にも登録されています。毎年2月の下旬から3月にかけて、かわいらしいピンクのアーモンドの花が線路沿いに咲いているため、鉄道で旅するのもオススメです。
