I have a great announcement! ??As you know, for the last 4 months, we have been trying to inspire some big pet stores to only use Adoption Partners who don't condone and perform declawing. We finally received an email from @chowhoundpet yesterday that said, "Chow Hound Pet Supplies has never condoned the practice of declawing cats and is no longer going to partner with cat rescues that declaw otherwise healthy cats, effective June 1st 2019." We want to thank the 968 people who signed our petition that we started on Friday to help inspire ChowHound Pet supplies to do the right thing. Your voice was heard and you truly made a difference for cats. We also want to say that we were informed that there were some people who were mean and made threats to some of the employees at their stores. This is not good to hear. We always ask our supporters to take the high road and EDUCATE the public. When you are mean or threatening, it hurts the cause, it's wrong, and they often blame your words on us. So please, let's continue to educate the public in respectful ways and save cats from this inhumane and mutilating amputation procedure. #TakeTheHighRoad Progress is not inevitable. (We are waiting for them to give us the good news about this. They told us a couple weeks ago that their legal dept. is reviewing it)??
