I’ve met many amazing people, each one memorable. Few however were this charismatic as Baba Bharti. Last week we were living in the mega temporary city of the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj (Allahabad), India, beckoned into his tent shrine festooned in flowers, smoke and ash. Since the age of 8, Baba has been a Naga Sadhu, a holy man who lives a life in minimalism, his days spent mostly naked, covered in ash, smoking copious amounts of ganja, praying, pulling his genitals with a sword...why not, right?...offering blessings to followers behind surfer dude sunglasses. The 38 year-old baba gave us a kind blessing for the journey ahead on this present @ナショナルジオグラフィック assignment, the second half of the @outofedenwalk through north India. A kind offering for the fascinating complexities before us toward Myanmar.
