The history behind the #cocktailcuff, written by @charlieburtongq for @britishgq, “In the Bond novels, Ian Fleming never mentions what brand of shirt Bond wears. We simply read that they are Sea Island cotton and made on Jermyn Street. And we certainly don’t hear anything about a cocktail cuff. The inspiration for that was, in fact, David Niven. The cocktail cuff was a hallmark of Niven’s shirts, which were made for him by Turnbull & Asser. Dr. No director Terence Young saw these in the shop and requested that they also feature on Connery’s shirts.
