Prudence manages to get people to help her build this home where she lived alone with her baby after her boyfriend found another woman and made her leave their home in Diepsloot. Her mother is back home in Zimbabwe but she says that there is no future there with the poverty. She is not sure what she will do now.

Marlboro Gardens residents who live close by protested that the settlement is causing an unsafe environment for them. They claim that there are illegal electricity and water connections set up by people living there, which they end up paying for. They also claim that many of these people are committing crimes and that the area is now unsafe.
