#inspo #henrirousseau through #instagram filters - #nature #art #artifice - I had a few inspirations behind the visuals for the new collection #AllTheRAGE. I wanted to recreate, in an artificial way, the repetitive patterns found in the Plant Kingdom (clade Viridiplantae). These patterns form the ‘backdrop’ to our own #evolution. We belong in there: to hide, to hunt. I have visited this before in ‘Hot Voodoo’ which had #Munchkinland as a key visual guideline. This time it is the more concealing, confusing, patterned, and also voyeuristic, view of the untamed by Henri Rousseau.
What could be hiding from us behind those stripes and dots? And why?! I think this attraction to pattern began as a survival tactic, looking for tell-tale irregularities, and has developed, in humans, into an art. ???????????????????????????????? #Hunter? #Hunted? #RUN
