Thank you @cvs_beauty for committing to creating new beauty standards by showing images that are real and unaltered. This is a big deal for me. In the past, my scars have been retouched out of photos and I've always felt like I had to keep them covered, especially when people pointed at them in disgust or complained about how difficult they are to cover with makeup. But over the years I’ve learned that my body isn’t an object here to conform or please other people. My body is living, breathing and here for ME. It’s hard to untangle the years of shame but I’m getting to a place where I feel more comfortable letting them show. These scars are part of my story. I’ve had cystic acne all over my face and body which has left me with permanent scars, including a new one on my back from a particularly painful cystic breakout last year. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to say I love my scars, but I’m learning to like them. I mean, look at this photo! I’m smiling, wearing zero makeup and feeling great without any filters. That feels like a pretty big step. This is why my partnership with CVS and their Beauty Mark is so important to me. Change is happening and I'm excited to see what's to come. ❤️ #BeautyUnaltered #ad
