New York City makeup artist and club fixture Raisa Flowers (@raisaflowers) whips through a rapid lineup of graphic eyes, colored eyebrows, and Rainbow Brite dye jobs, deftly pairing a Technicolor aesthetic with bolts of color and supernaturally glowing skin. Her distinct look and work have caught the eye of casting directors and brought her notoriety. "Black women haven't been put into an experimental editorial realm as much," she explains. "I want to change that" And in her push for inclusivity, Flowers also uses her platform to spread body positivity and raise awareness for LGBTQ+ rights. "I still feel underground in a way, but I try to work with people who get the vision or who are the vision," she explains. "From my art to my body image, I want to change the world in as many different ways as possible."⁣
