I’ve been a fan of @shomipatwary for years now. His story is one of the most inspiring ones I’ve heard to date. From working with Pharrell early on and being one of the first on the Star Trak team, creating all of the original Clipse album covers, directing music videos for Beyoncé, Pusha T, turning down Drake on MySpace and more. This is the kind of legacy and career most people can only dream of having someday. Speaking with him reminded me that success doesn’t come overnight and that you have to work your ASS off to get somewhere in life. Fail, have patience, have fun and do it all over again. And if you really love what you do and do it purely out of passion and not for the fame, status or money, you will go far. Shoutout to Shomi and all of the other OGs who have been doing this since before some of us were born. They are the reason why we have some of the opportunities we have today.
