@linzerdinzer has a pug named Potato who needs our help. He has intervertebral disc disease. That means the cushion in the space between the bones of his spine are swelling and blocking neural signals from his brain to his body. It’s currently making him walk like a drunk baby and giving him some short, shooting pain that makes him scream like he’s on fire. If left untreated he could spend his golden years paralyzed. The treatment is most likely going to be “surgical decompression of the spine by removal of the bone over the spinal canal.” And there’s a solid chance my doggo insurance might help me there. However, my insurance doesn’t help with tests or screenings, and the vet won’t have the information they need to do the surgery without a pricy CT scan or MRI. So that’s what I’m asking for help with here. I know. He’s a mutant pug. He’s a purebred. And he’s 10, possibly 11 years old. There are dozens of reasons not to help us.
