Are you folding your sweater, or "Kondo-ing" it?⠀
⠀
Japanese organizing consultant and best-selling author @近藤麻理恵 has helped tidy up so many homes that her name has come to mean doing just that.⠀
⠀
Her trademarked #KonMari method of decluttering has quickly moved from movement to mainstay verb—to describe either purging or meticulous folding—since her @ネットフリックス reality show "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" premiered earlier this year.⠀
⠀
"Kondo" is just the latest name to enter the lexicon as an "eponym," joining examples such as "pasteurize," after Louis Pasteur, who demonstrated that applying heat could eliminate harmful microorganisms in food; and "mesmerize," after German doctor Franz Mesmer, a pioneer in methods of hypnotism.⠀
