Women’s March, New York.
This collective force of women is truly a sight to behold, to be inspired by, for it is a reckoning of a future that is hopeful, equitable, inclusive, empathetic, diverse, exciting and colourful.
Today’s women’s march at Foley Square was emotional and powerful because it was inclusive of all races, gender identity, sexualities, religious beliefs, ages, shapes and sizes. The camaraderie of the march also made a poignant note about how our differences doesn’t make us enemies, but rather, bring us together as allies who can learn from one another. To be alive, present and witness it was soul stirring. I am extremely thankful for today, for all it stands for and the change it provokes, and even more so because I got to share this moment with the 3 women who have impacted my life oh so profoundly- my super heroine, the glorious Gloria Steinem, my best friend and rock, my sister Kumudini, and my hope for the future, my niece Vaidehi.
I have such immense gratitude. It is my leading emotion for today and for each day, for I feel alive and inspired for being able to witness and partake in these powerful moments. XPG
