Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine(#鶴岡八幡宮) sits at the foot of Mount Daijinyama(#大臣山)⛩?

It was built in 1603, and has a deep connection with Minamotono Yoritomo(#源頼朝), the first military commander and founder of the Kamakura Shogunate(#鎌倉幕府).

He moved the shrine to its current location to have the shrine as a form of protection for his government.
The shrine is also known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.
