10 years ago today I uploaded my very first video to @YouTube (this was NOT it...my first video you don’t even see my face? But this is the first video I filmed showing my face!)
❤️There weren’t any famous youtube people & you couldn’t make money from it.
I was just excited to share all my knowledge as a makeup artist with anyone that wanted to learn makeup tips & tricks. There was no way to know how to do makeup back then unless you were a makeup artist already!
❤️I had never edited anything in my life, and googled how to do everything. My video camera was almost an antique from my grandparents, that used tapes, not even memory cards!
?My videos were blurry, poorly lit, and had the worst intro graphics...but they were made with so much love, enthusiasm for teaching and a heart that just wanted to be a friend to anyone watching. (SIDENOTE: I was reading my blog from that day and read I had only slept 2 hours in 36 hours doing makeup on a shoot and filming and editing my videos- my no sleep has been around for a decade!?)
❤️God blessed my life with youtube and each of you who have filled my heart with so much love, words that have touched my heart at some of the saddest times in my life. I can’t thank you enough for loving me, watching my low quality videos, for being my internet friends and for each of you that have blessed my heart by saying I’ve meant something to you, inspired you, or helped you in a dark time...I’ve got a hug with your name on it❤️ You are each treasures to my heart...so if you ever see me, please let me hug you in real life and thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like I matter to you and for letting me be a sparkle in your heart?
