The second issue of "Kazoku" magazine will be out on 14th of January.
After 4 years since the first publication, it is finally finished. "Kazoku" is a magazine that covers one family throughout the year, taking up up a whole volume. I shot cover and cover story.
This second issue features the Eguchi family who runs Mitosaya Herbal Distillery located in Otaki City, Chiba Prefecture. The father, Hiroshi Eguchi, is the founder of the bookshop "Ulrecht" as well as "TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR", meanwhile mother Yuko Yamamoto is an illustrator. This originally urban Tokyo-based family chose a new way of living by taking over a herbal medicinal garden of an abandoned document building for residence, embracing farmwork in unknown soils and turning it into a distillery.
Capturing the challenges and adventures of every day, far from planning and assumptions, I followed the ever-changing shapes of such a family throughout spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

雑誌『家族』第2号が1月14日に発売されます。
創刊号から約4年。ついに完成です。
奥山は表紙・巻頭・巻末を撮影しております。
『家族』は1年の歳月を通して1つの家族を取材し、1冊まるごと作り上げる雑誌。
第2号は千葉県大多喜市にあるmitosaya薬草園蒸留所を営む江口一家です。お父さんはブックショップ「ユトレヒト」「TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR」を立ち上げた江口宏志さん、お母さんはイラストレーターとして活躍する山本祐布子さん。住み慣れた東京を離れ家族が選んだ新たな生き方は、薬草園の資料棟で無理矢理寝食をし、土にまみれ慣れない農作業に勤しむ、蒸留所の開設という道でした。計画や想定からかけ離れた、挑戦と冒険と日常。そんな家族の姿を春・夏・秋・冬追いかけました。
