hands are my favorite subject to draw. they’re the perfect balance of complex & familiar. the best part is they’re attached to your body so you'll never need to go far for a reference! i drew the same pose twice here to compare the 005 & 03 nibs. the first one is almost like an etching with delicate layers of tone that create a gradual shift from dark to light. the second is more graphic, like a rubber stamp with strong lines & dramatic contrast. which do you prefer?
