The charity I'm supporting this year is @HelpRefugeesUK. There are currently over 68 million refugees and displaced people in the world. This number is constantly increasing. #HelpRefugees was founded 3.5 years ago by a group of friends who just wanted to do something to help. They have quickly grown into the biggest facilitator of grassroots aid on the continent, funding over 80 projects in Europe and Africa and also IRAP who are working at the Mexico border.
Nobody wants to flee their home leaving everything behind. Help Refugees recognizes that whilst the long term solutions may be complex, in the meantime it's important to try to help people stay nourished with healthy food, to help children to not miss out on the chance of an education and to ensure women have safe sanitary places to nurse and wash their babies.
