Less than 10 days to discover the exhibition dedicated to Egon Schiele at te @fondationlv.
This self-portrait of Egon Schiele (1910) marks a turning point in his work. His face appears isolated within the unlimited space of the paper. The use of mixed deep purple and red colors, the representation of his piercing gaze and half-open mouth emphasize the disquieted nature of the self-portrait. The glow of white gouache that surrounds the face insinuate an almost transcendent energy.
