? Cette bague-sceau en or massif, provenant du Nouvel Empire égyptien (vers 1550 – 1069 av. J.-C.), est une pièce exceptionnelle tant par sa taille (3,85 cm) que par sa qualité d'exécution. L'anneau très épais est pourvu à ses extrémités de butées et de spirales rapportées, tandis que le chaton pivotant de forme rectangulaire est orné sur ses quatre faces d'un décor profondément gravé.
? Sur l'un des grands côtés figure le cartouche contenant le nom de couronnement du pharaon Horemheb, dernier souverain de la 18ème dynastie.
? Sur le second côté passe un lion majestueux, symbole de la puissance royale.
? Les deux petits côtés ont quant à eux reçu l'image d'un crocodile et d'un scorpion.
Cette bague devait probablement servir de sceau pour imprimer des cachets officiels. Ce type de bague-sceau, apparu au Moyen Empire, était très répandu au Nouvel Empire.

? This solid gold signet ring, from the New Kingdom of Egypt (circa 1550 to circa 1069 BC), is exceptional for its size (3,85 cm) and the quality of its workmanship. Spirals are added toward the rounded ends of the very thick ring, and the four faces of the rectangular, rotating bezel are deeply engraved.
? One of the larger faces of the rectangular bezel bears a cartouche containing the coronation name of the Pharaoh Horemheb, the last king of the 18th Dynasty.
? The other features a majestic lion, symbol of royal power.
? The two smaller faces are engraved with a crocodile and a scorpion.
This ring probably served as a seal for applying official stamps. Signet rings of this type, which first appeared in the Middle Kingdom, were common during the New Kingdom.
