Fun 2 day shoot w/ Lauren a couple weeks ago. In typical hybrid fashion I shot on three bodies (2 film and 1 digital) Mamiya RZ67/Leica M7 and the Leica SL. Each camera creates a different feel for me when I'm shooting and I loved seeing the different results from. .
First up was this 120 series shot on my Mamiya w/ Ilford Pan-F 50+. Very little grain and incredible deep blacks. Ansel Adams used to shoot this stock back in the 40's, I had only shot it on landscapes before so was excited to shoot it with Lauren midday on the beach. You'll see in the colour shots I'll post later how this film handles the shadows and the bright light, details are so fine. .
But shooting w/ the tank of a camera that the RZ is, forces you to slow down even more than normal film shooting - so while each of these shots were composed, I then sat back and waited for the right moment for that large leaf to KaThunk. ?.
