Fetching $6.7 million, the historical diamond was originally given to Elisabeth Farnese, Queen of Spain, as a wedding gift in 1715, before passing down through four of the most important royal families in Europe. Hidden away in a jewellery box for over three centuries, no one knew about its existence except for close relatives, and of course the family jewellers, until recently.
