Hamza, 14, in Jordan’s Za’atari refugee camp, holds a handwritten note from his teacher in Syria. The note calls Hamza a star. Hamza is now in 8th grade and has made a big effort to keep achieving academically, despite the disruption to his education. He made sure to pack the note when they left Syria. “It’s important for me to keep it, because it reminds me of when I was the best student in my class,” he says.
Over half of the world’s refugees are children. The Global Compact on Refugees is a unique opportunity to strengthen international response to large movements of refugees. #ChildrenUprooted #AChildIsAChild
