#ArtBasel: Ed Ruscha’s "OK" is currently on view in our booth at Art Basel Miami Beach.

Rendered entirely in shades of black-and-white, the work belongs to a seminal series of monochromatic “Silhouette Paintings” that the artist began in the 1980s. Featuring the titular two-letter word expressing an ambivalent, almost deadpan affirmation, this painting exemplifies Ruscha’s use of iconographical motifs and brief, evocative language reminiscent of advertising copy.
