Gagosian and Jeffrey Deitch have resurfaced in @miamidesigndistrict with their fourth collaboration at the historic Moore Building. The exhibition explores the intersection of two major American art movements of the 1960s – pop art and minimalism – that both sprung as seemingly opposing artistic responses to abstract expressionism. The work here highlights points of common approaches, such as the mutual use of readymades in Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup cans and Dan Flavin’s fluorescent tubes.
