@australiazoo just treated their 80,000th patient! Five-month old koala joey Hermione and her mother were some of the thousands treated. They were rescued from an attack by two large dogs at the base of a tree. Due to her serious trauma injuries; internal bleeding and an eye injury that left her blind, Hermione’s mother didn’t make it. A teddy bear plush toy, a make-shift pouch, the veterinary staff at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital and a specialised wildlife carer will comfort the orphaned koala joey and help her prepare for life in the wild. .
