It is with great sadness that Bob and Odette @vetdoest have to say goodbye to their beloved feathered friends as pelicans Neill and Dani passed away yesterday.

The two pelicans started to show neurological issues two weeks ago. They seemed to recover after their first treatment but then their paralysis continued and eventually they both passed away yesterday afternoon.

Neill and Dani were heavily injured when they arrived in Odette’s veterinary practice and could not be reintroduced back into the wild. They became part of Odette’s educational team together with Flamingo Bob. And while Bob’s flamboyant appearance got all the attention, the two pelicans were just as valuable in teaching the local children about wildlife conservation in Curaçao. The two birds were incredibly funny, had amazing characters and became family friends. They will be missed.
