Brielle’s birthday portrait!

There’s a good back story behind this drawing. Nicely summed up by an excerpt from my email correspondence with her Aunt, who commissioned the piece. “The reason I thought it would be awesome to get a portrait for Brielle’s 9th birthday is that (maybe like most kids growing up?) she’s going through a bit of a phase of hating her hair/feeling “different” to other Aussie kids/isolated, etc. Of course we all LOVE her curly her, but these days she insist on wearing it pulled back or begs her mum to straighten it (and then gets super grumpy when she doesn’t haha). I think she would love a portrait, and of course we’d love it to feature her amazing curly hair!” I loved drawing this for the pretty Brielle and I especially liked drawing her beautiful curly hair!
