Is this a baby wombat trying on a wig, or hiding under Mumma? Either way, we’re delighted that @phoebepurser captured this unusual sight on camera when she visited @tasmania’s #MariaIsland! This spot off @eastcoasttasmania’s mainland is a #wildlife haven, and @greatwalksofoz’s @mariaislandwalk is a great way to experience it. P.S. It’s a little-known fact that #wombats have a backwards-facing pouch, this is so mothers can dig without throwing dirt into their little ones' home. Clever, right?
